9 October is World Post Day – one of the annual international anniversaries set by the Universal Postal Union in 1969.
The governing body of the Universal Postal Union believes that the postal sector is at its heyday. Such basic postal functions as information transmission, shipping and delivery of items of goods and freights are constantly developed and expanded. New postal services are introduced; the old ones are improved and promoted. The courier services are also widely used these days.
