Items prohibited for domestic mailing within the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan
- Combat hand-held small arms and cold weapons, civilian and service arms, ammunition, special technical means of dual use, and components for them.*
- Alcohol, Narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors.
- Nuclear materials, radioactive, harsh, corrosive, explosive and flammable substances, explosives, pyrotechnic substances, and other dangerous substances.
- Poisons, poisonous animals, poisonous substances, poisonous plants and seeds.
- National currency of the Republic of Kazakhstan and foreign currency.**
- Printed publications, graphic materials, film, photo, audio and video materials containing propaganda or agitation for change of the constitutional system, violation of the integrity of the Republic of Kazakhstan, undermining state security, war, social, racial, national, religious, class and tribal superiority, the cult of cruelty, violence and pornography.
- Perishable foods.
- Objects which due to their nature or packaging may be a danger to postal workers, soil or damage other postal items and postal equipment.

Items prohibited for international mailing from the customs territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan
- Combat hand-held small arms and cold weapons, civilian and service arms, ammunition, special technical means of dual use, and components for them.
- Alcohol, Narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors.
- Nuclear materials, radioactive, harsh, corrosive, explosive and flammable substances, explosives, pyrotechnic substances, and other dangerous substances.
- Poisons, poisonous animals, poisonous substances, poisonous plants and seeds.
- Foreign currency and the national currency of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as canceled securities (via export delivery), except for monetary units sent for numismatic purposes.
- Horns, hooves, antlers of elk, saiga, sika deer, and sika deer skins (via export delivery), derivatives of animals and plants listed in the Red Book.
- Printed publications, graphic materials, film, photo, audio and video materials containing propaganda or agitation for change of the constitutional system, violation of the integrity of the Republic of Kazakhstan, undermining state security, war, social, racial, national, religious, class and tribal superiority, the cult of cruelty, violence and pornography.
- Live animals, except for bees, leeches and silkworms.
- Objects which due to their nature or packaging may be a danger to postal workers, soil or damage other postal items and postal equipment.
- Perishable foods.
- Coins, banknotes, credit notes or any valuables payable to bearer, travelers' checks, precious metals and gems, as well as articles made therefrom (via letters and parcels with no value declared).
- Items the import or circulation of which is prohibited in a country of destination.

* As an exception, defective parts of civilian and service weapons sent by shops licensed to trade them to the address of the manufacturer or other legal entities and individuals who have a license to repair civil and service weapons, as well as by the abovementioned manufacturers or other legal entities and individuals - to the address of the relevant stores, are subject to acceptance and shipping.
Acceptance and delivery of the abovesaid dispatches is to be carried out upon presentation of the relevant licenses.

** Banknotes, coins and values sent by legal entities possessing the right on collection and shipment of banknotes, coins and valuables, in accordance with the banking legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, are subject to acceptance and delivery via letters and parcels with a declared value.
All other senders are permitted to send the decrepit and questionable monetary units to the address of the branch of the National Bank of Kazakhstan via letters with a declared value, directed in accordance with the banking legislation. It is also permissible to mail numismatic coins and collections via parcels.
